Overview
Scope of food testing
Praman is a notified FSSAI food laboratory with accredited methods across processed food, spices, grains, edible oils, dairy, confectionery, beverages and ready-to-eat products. The same laboratory handles the routine monthly release panel and the trace-level residue work that decides whether a shipment clears customs in Rotterdam.
Most of our food clients run three distinct programmes with us: incoming material clearance against their own specification, finished-goods release, and a periodic contaminant sweep that catches drift before it becomes a recall.

Both and we keep them separate on the report. Indian regulatory limits are reproduced against each parameter, and where you give us a destination market or a buyer specification we add a second compliance column against those limits. A sample can pass FSSAI and fail an EU MRL, you should be able to see that at a glance.
For a standard nutritional panel, 500 g of a homogeneous product. For pesticide residues on agri commodities, 1 kg drawn as a composite across the lot. For microbiology, unopened retail packs in original sealed condition. The sample submission form lists quantities parameter by parameter.
Yes. Our field team samples to IS 436 and ISO 707 protocols across Mumbai, Thane, Navi Mumbai and Pune, photographs the lot and seals the sample on site. For export consignments this is usually the only sampling a buyer will accept.
The analyst who ran it calls you before the report is issued. We will tell you what the number is, what the uncertainty around it is, and whether a confirmatory repeat on a fresh portion is worth doing. We do not change a result, but we will never let you find a failure for the first time in a PDF.
We generate the nutritional values and verify declared claims against the measured data and we will flag a declaration that the analysis does not support. We do not design artwork or act as your regulatory consultant, that separation is part of staying a third party.
